Study of pharmaceuticals used in therapy of senses

  • Study of a local irritating action on cornea and conjunctiva in rabbits;
  • Study of activity in the model of allergic conjunctivitis in rabbits;
  • Assessment of activity in the model of injury of retina in rabbits;
  • Study of efficiency in the model of experimental cataract in rats;
  • Study of activity in the models of corneal injury in rabbits.

To assess PA efficiency in a complex the following diagnostic procedures are used:

  • clinical examination of eyes followed by assessment of dacryagogue severity, damaging effect of conjunctival injection, the rate of conjunctiva edema;
  • examination of eye anterior chamber using slit lamp applied to cornea trauma to assess dehiscence, the rate of infiltration and epitelization, the level of fibrin exudates, the process of compact scar formation in cornea;
  • examination of fundus by ophthalmoscope to assess the area of an acute retinal damage;
  • histologic assessment of damaged structures of eye.
